DCX2019 to host Provincial Championships & Worlds Qualifiers!
We’re super stoked to announce that PACE Multisport Dodge City X, which will be held in the Village of Cumberland on September 7, 2019, will also serve as the BC Provincial Cross Triathlon Championships!
That means that not only will the winners of each age/gender category in our Standard race earn bragging rights for dominating Canada’s toughest off-road triathlon, but they’ll also be crowned provincial champ for 2019 and will receive a special championship medal from TriathlonBC.
As far as we know, we’re the first cross triathlon to be awarded the provincial championships in just our second year, which is a testament to the passion and dedication of our 100+ volunteers, who many athletes told me were the most enthusiastic they’ve ever seen. So again, thank you!!
PACE Multisport Dodge City X is open to the public with no pre-qualification required. REGISTER NOW and come test your limits in one of the country’s premiere outdoor playgrounds!
World Championship Qualifiers
And that’s not all . . .
We’re also proud to announce that PACE Multisport Dodge City X has been awarded qualifying spots for the 2020 World Multisport Championships in Almere, Netherlands.
That means that the top athlete in each age/gender category (Standard race only, based on 2020 age-adjusted results) will automatically qualify for a spot on Canada’s Age Group national Team to represent our country and wear the maple leaf on the world stage. Doing so is a great honour and an unforgettable experience!
What are age-adjusted results? Athletes qualify for the Almere World Championships in 2020, so qualification is determined by their age as of December 31st 2020, NOT race-day results. If you’re first in the race-day results, but are bumped to second in the age-adjusted results, for example, you do not automatically qualify for a spot. You will, however, still be crowned provincial champion.
For complete details about the qualification process, including Triathlon Canada’s process for claiming a roll-down spot should it become available, view Triathlon Canada’s Qualification Process Fact Sheet.
NOTE: If you qualify, you will be given the information needed to register as soon as your eligibility is verified by Triathlon Canada. Please allow one month following the race for administration. If you do not receive notification by one month post qualifying event, please contact agegroupteams@triathloncanada.com.
