Do you have your wetsuit yet?

With the morning temperatures decidedly lower than the 20 degrees or so we’d gotten used to over the summer, and Comox Lake cooling off from its midsummer highs of 21-22 degrees, the possibility of a wetsuit-mandatory swim is rearing its head.

The permissibility of wetsuits is dictated by Triathlon BC based on a combination of water temperature and air temperature. If you’ve signed up for PACE Multisport Dodge City X, it’s almost guaranteed that you’ll be allowed to wear a wetsuit during the Fit Chiropractic Swim Course. (We mean that in the same way it’s almost guaranteed that Regina won’t get snow in August.)

There is, however, a possibility that wetsuits might be mandatory during the swim. It all depends on conditions on race morning. We just wanted to give you the heads up so you can prepare accordingly.

If you need a wetsuit, we may know a few people with a very limited supply available for borrow/rent. Please email ryan@steamdokneyracing.com with:

No guarantees, but we’ll help you out if we can.
