Triathlon Canada clarifies worlds qualification process

Triathlon Canada has just released a communique clarifying the qualification process for athletes who wish to compete at the ITU (International Triathlon Union qualifying events, such as the 2020 World Multisport Championships in Almere, Netherlands. As you know, PACE Multisport Dodge City X is a qualifying event in cross triathlon for those championships.

The biggest point of feedback Tri Canada said it received from athletes last season was that a national mechanism for facilitating roll-down of Qualifying spots was needed, thereby increasing the chances for athletes hoping to join Age Group Team Canada by creating an opportunity for unclaimed spots to roll to the next eligible athlete in the race results.

For details on this roll-down process, plus much more information about qualifying for a world championship event, please view Triathlon Canada’s Qualification Process Fact Sheet.
